About the Role
The Carpet Shoppe, Inc. (TCS) is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the daily accounting activities of the company and ensures accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This position supervises the accounting staff, maintains accounting records, and supports management with financial data for internal decision-making. The role is hands-on and focuses on maintaining accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in the accounting process.
Key Responsibilities
•
Supervise the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
•
Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules to support the month-end close.
•
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
•
Assist in preparing internal financial statements and reports for management review.
•
Maintain accounting files, records, and documentation in compliance with company policy.
•
Support the budgeting process by compiling and organizing financial data.
•
Assist external auditors and tax preparers by providing documentation as requested.
•
Monitor job costing and assist operations with cost reconciliations.
•
Maintain vendor and customer records, ensuring accuracy of billing and payments.
•
Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows.
•
Supervise and provide guidance to accounting staff on daily tasks and priorities.

Desired Qualifications
•
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
•
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory /lead role.
•
Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
•
Experience in manufacturing, retail, wholesale, or construction industries preferred.
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint) and accounting systems (RFMS experience a plus).
•
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
•
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Location
We are only considering candidates located in Honolulu, Hawaii. This position requires regular office work and occasional travel offsite for events, meetings, and training.
Compensation and Benefits
This a full-time “at-will” position working at least 40 hours per week.
The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 which is based on market data and the organization’s compensation philosophy. Our offer will be within the range as required by certain state laws and individual salary offers will depend on and may vary with location, relevant education, knowledge, skills, and experience. We also offer comprehensive employee benefits.
